Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita scored a superb goal against Crystal Palace on Saturday – and has now been likened to Eric Cantona by Sadio Mane.

The Reds were looking to keep their unbeaten start to the Premier League season, and did so with a comfortable 3-0 win.

Mane opened the scoring when Mohamed Salah’s effort was parried, with Salah then making it 2-0 in the second half.

Keita added gloss to the win, volleying home an outstanding effort into the corner of the net.

Mane makes Cantona comparison

Liverpool fans loved Keita’s goal, but Sadio Mane saw something different.

Mane spotted Keita’s nonchalant celebration after his goal, and struck an interesting comparison.

Mane compared Keita to Manchester United legend Eric Cantona due to the celebration.

Cantona famously celebrated in a similar way after scoring a beautiful chip against Sunderland in 1996.

Mane saw the same kind of thing from Keita, taking to Instagram to make the comparison.

Liverpool need this regularly from Keita

There is no doubting that Keita is a quality player. He has so much ability on the ball but just needs to find some consistency.

Injuries have held Keita back, and he hasn’t quite had the impact on Liverpool’s midfield that many expected.

Three years since arriving from RB Leipzig, Liverpool are still waiting for Keita to really show that he should be a regular starter.

This goal was another sign of Keita’s ability, but Liverpool need to see it regularly – even if he doesn’t quite reach Cantona’s level!
