Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Mark Noble taking the late penalty for West Ham United against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United today.
What’s the story?
West Ham have suffered a 2-1 defeat to United at London Stadium in the Premier League this afternoon.
The Hammers could have earned a point from the encounter late on when they were awarded a penalty.
West Ham manager David Moyes decided to bring on Mark Noble to take the spot kick deep into injury time.
Noble could not score, as United goalkeeper David de Gea kept it out.
Reaction
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Lineker and ex-West Ham midfielder Don Hutchison have criticised Moyes for his decision.
Strange decision?
Noble is a very experienced midfielder who scores from spot kicks and is a very reliable player.
However, you have to question Moyes’s decision to bring on the veteran just for the spot kick.

Noble had not warmed up and was not involved in the game.
The Englishman was basically asked to score with his first touch of the game.
That is not easy at all.
