Arsenal claimed a second 1-0 win in a row on Saturday afternoon, beating Burnley at Turf Moor as Aaron Ramsdale impressed again.

The Gunners beat Norwich City 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium last week to kickstart their season under Mikel Arteta.

A trip to Burnley was always going to be more tricky, but Arsenal came through with all three points.

Martin Odegaard’s beautiful free kick gave Arsenal the win, though the Gunners had to withstand aerial pressure in the second half.

Ramsdale impresses for Arsenal

A key part of the win was the performance of goalkeeper Ramsdale.

The new signing from Sheffield United claimed four crosses and made three saves, preserving his clean sheet in every way.

When you go to Burnley, you need to deal with the crosses and high balls.

Ramsdale did that brilliantly, and is starting to repay the faith – and the money – Arsenal have put into him.

It now looks like Ramsdale is Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper ahead of Bernd Leno now.

After a mixed response to his arrival last month, Ramsdale is now proving his worth and earning the plaudits to go with his displays.

Ian Wright reacts on Instagram

Arsenal legend Ian Wright had his say, taking to Instagram to react to Ramsdale’s performance against Burnley.

Wright described Ramsdale’s performance as ‘brilliant’, needing only one adjective to praise his display.

Ramsdale had his critics after joining Arsenal, but having praise from Wright will mean a lot.

Wright is an Arsenal hero, living and breathing the club to this day.

That should give Ramsdale plenty of confidence as he begins to impress at Arsenal.
