Tottenham Hotspur talent J’Neil Bennett is earning first-team experience on loan at Crewe Alexandra – and seems to be reaping the rewards.

Formerly of the Queens Park Rangers academy, Bennett has been coming through the Tottenham ranks in recent years.

Bennett even made his first-team debut at Tottenham last month.

Coming on as a substitute, Bennett played his first senior game against Pacos de Ferreira – and now he’s in League One.

Bennett’s record at Tottenham

Bennett’s record at Under-18 level is superb. In 36 outings, Bennett racked up 17 goals and eight assists according to Transfermarkt.

Rising to the Under-23’s has been a little trickier, recording four goals and three assists in 34 games.

Tottenham still have high hopes for Bennett, and this loan spell at Crewe is doing him the world of good.

Crewe already love Bennett

Bennett enjoyed a superb afternoon on Saturday.

The 19-year-old set up Crewe’s first goal in a 2-0 win over Burton Albion.

Driving at the Albion defence, Bennett put a cross into the box which Michael Bostwick could only put into his own net.

Bennett then added a goal of his own to seal the win.

Sprinting up the left flank, Bennett headed towards goal before cutting inside onto his right foot.

Bennett then managed to find the corner with his finish, securing all three points.

Playing men’s football seems to be helping Bennett, and Crewe’s official Twitter account simply called him ‘starboy’ – an exciting verdict for Tottenham fans to read.
