Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has raved about his teammate Harvey Elliott, as quoted on the club’s official website.
Elliott suffered a long-term injury during Liverpool’s win against Leeds United away from home at Elland Road in the Premier League last weekend.
The 18-year-old winger is now expected to be on the sidelines for an extended period of time.
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has spoken highly of the teenager, who was playing as a midfielder under manager Jurgen Klopp this season.
Alisson told Liverpool’s official website about Elliott: “He’s a really, really good player.
“Since the moment he arrives here, he was 16 years old if I’m not wrong and you could see already his qualities.
“The way he plays football is amazing, his skills, and he’s a really good guy as well, really cool guy – really, really nice.”
Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and plays for Brazil.
The 28-year-old has played with some great footballers, and him speaking so highly of Elliott shows just how good the winger is.
The former Fulham man will be disappointed with the injury he has suffered, and we hope that he recovers soon.
Elliott, who has made eight appearances in the Premier League so far in his career, will be determined to hit the ground running once he is back from injury.
No Roberto Firmino today
Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Klopp has said that Roberto Firmino will not play against Crystal Palace in the Premier League today.
The Reds will take on Palace at Anfield in a few hours’ time.
Brazil international forward Firmino has a hamstring injury.
Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “He’s not ready. Bobby didn’t even start training with the team.
“It will happen at some point next week, he will be back in training and then we will see.”
