Season 3 of Sex Education dropped on Netflix on Friday (September 13th) and fans couldn’t be more excited.
The teen show follows the story of Otis, a socially awkward high school student whose mother is a sex therapist, and it’s been a real hit worldwide.
Sex Education has a huge cast including Gillian Anderson, Emma Mackey and Asa Butterfield.
One character whose story has been a huge part of the show is Adam Groff, played by Connor Swindells, but is he gay in real life?
Who is Connor Swindells?
Connor Swindells is an English actor and model.
The 24-year-old from Lewes, East Sussex, started acting when he saw an audition poster for a local play and his friend dared him to audition.
He got the lead role and went on to star in two more plays before realising he had a passion for acting.
In 2017, he starred in an episode of the drama Harlots, Sky One’s Jamestown and the thriller movie The Vanishing.
Then, he was cast in Sex Education in 2019, which was his breakthrough role.
Is he gay in real life?
In Sex Education, he plays Adam Groff, the headmaster’s son and high school bully who has a very tense relationship with his father.
At the beginning of Season 1, he is dating a girl called Aimee but begins realising that he is actually gay and fancies Eric, the flamboyant, gay character played by Ncuti Gatwa.
In Season 2, he continues exploring his sexuality and begins a secret relationship with Eric.
However, Connor is not actually gay in real life, he just plays a gay character. He has previously said that he isn’t afraid of getting naked on set, but was nervous about filming gay scenes.
Connor was dating Aimee Lou Wood
Connor isn’t publicly dating anyone right now and appears to be single.
However, he previously dated his brief on-screen girlfriend and co-star Aimee Lou Wood.
The pair met on the set of Sex Education in 2018, but broke up two years later in 2020.
Their separation was reportedly amicable, and there was no drama, they simply felt it was best to be apart.
