Whilst titles such as One Piece, Black Clover and My Hero Academia dominate the weekly manga releases, the global excitement surrounding Boruto’s monthly release is something that is difficult to compete with.

Boruto chapter 62: Release date and time

Boruto chapter 62 is set to release around the world at 12 AM Japan Standard Time on Monday, September 20th.

This release date was revealed at the end of chapter 61 and has been confirmed officially by Viz Media’s Boruto webpage, with the upcoming chapter expected to launch online at the following international times:

  • Pacific Time: 8 AM PDT
  • Eastern Time: 11 AM EDT
  • British Time: 4 PM BST
  • European Time: 5 PM CEST
  • India Time: 8.30 PM IST
  • Philippine Time: 11 PM PHT
  • Australia Time: 12.30 AM ACST

How to read Boruto chapter 62…

Boruto chapter 62 will be available to read legally and for free through Viz Media, Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump App.

All services offer the first three and latest three chapters, but only Viz Media provides online access to the entire collection of Boruto manga chapters, which will require a membership subscription costing $1.99 a month.

A brief recap of chapter 61…

Chapter 61 in the Boruto manga was titled ‘Madness’ and opened with Boruto and Kawaki continuing to be monitored in case of an attack by Code.

Kawaki is irritated at the lack of privacy and trust that the surveillance brings, sneaking out of the village using a shadow clone and hiding his Chakra.

Boruto is trying to figure out a way to contact Kawaki without alerting the surveillance team, but after Eida informs Code about Kawaki’s movements, he sets off to track him down himself.

Boruto chapter 62 preview and spoilers…

At the time of writing, only the brief spoilers for chapter 62 have been leaked online.

The chapter will be reportedly titled ‘A chance encounter’ and features Code on the colour cover page.

According to the leaks, this chapter is very action-heavy with little dialogue; up to 60% of the content focusing on Code and Kawaki’s battle.

A short preview was also shared thanks to the V Jump attachment card. The translation reads, “Kawaki and Code are finally facing each other, standing face to face…?! What will Boruto do then?!”

The first spoilers from the manga’s raw scans are expected to start circulating on social media by Thursday, September 16th.

Is there a new anime episode too?

Yes, episode 216 of the Boruto anime series is currently scheduled to premiere worldwide on Sunday, September 19th.

The episode, titled Sacrifice, will release at 10 AM BST (2 AM PDT/5 AM EDT) via the Crunchyroll streaming platform.

“While Boruto and the rest are fighting Isshiki in another dimension, Amado says some meaningful words to Kawaki and the others…?!” – Episode 216 preview, via Abdul_S17.

A synopsis was uploaded by popular Twitter page Abdul Zoldyck, which read: “Amado has captured Shikadai and is negotiating for his asylum in the Village of Konohagakure.”
