Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has told Football.London that his side have an advantage over Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur.
London rivals Tottenham and Chelsea will lock horns with each other at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
Chelsea were in action in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
Spurs played Rennes in the Europa Conference League last night.
Chelsea boss Tuchel has said that he is happy to have a two-day advantage over Spurs in the build-up to the London derby.
Tuchel told Football.London (1:31pm, September 17, 2021): “It’s good. I like it. We had a recovery day yesterday and now have two training sessions. It is good for us, it is an advantage.”
Chelsea are favourites
Perhaps even Tottenham fans will admit that Chelsea are the favourites to win the London derby on Sunday.
The Blues, who won the Champions League last season, have a better team and a better squad than Spurs.
Chelsea are also in better form.
While Harry Kane is not getting chances to score, Romelu Lukaku is banging in the goals for Chelsea.
Belgium international striker Lukaku, who returned to Chelsea from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window, has scored three goals in the Premier League and one in the Champions League.
However, anything is possible in a London derby.
Tottenham did well defensively in the opening three Premier League games of the season, and they could well beat Chelsea on the counter-attack.
