Jack Grealish has reacted to Declan Rice’s brilliant goal for West Ham United last night.
The Irons secured an excellent 2-0 win away to Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.
And it was a wonderful goal by Rice which made the game more or less safe for West Ham shortly after the half-time break.
The England midfielder intercepted a loose pass from the opposition before galloping over half the field, using his strength to hold off a challenge in the process.
And once he got within shooting range, the West Ham powerhouse made no mistake, drilling home through the keeper’s legs with the poise of a centre-forward.
Here’s how Grealish – a £100 million signing by Manchester City during the summer – reacted to the goal on Twitter:
Rice did indeed make a mockery of whatever speed statistics that the boffins at EA Sport dreamed up for the big man.
More impressive than that, though, was the occasion overall.
This was West Ham’s first European tie since 2006 and with Rice being captain, what a way in which to inspire your side to victory.
The East Londoners are back in Premier League action on Sunday when David Moyes’s side host in-form Manchester United.
