Some of the internet’s most viral videos detail situations that have happened on flights.
In July, a video showed a shocking fight that broke out between two passengers on a Frontier Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Miami.
Weeks later, a woman was kicked off an Alaska Airlines flight as she was wearing a crop top.
Now, another woman, Amanda Pendarvis, has been removed from a flight as her toddler was not wearing a mask.
Here’s what happened…
Who is Amanda Pendarvis?
Amanda Pendarvis is a mother from Colorado Springs.
She has hit headlines this week after she was removed to a flight due to her asthmatic son not wearing a face mask.
Amanda was on an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Colorado Springs with her mother and 2-year-old son Waylon when the incident happened.
She detailed the whole thing on her Instagram Story.
Woman kicked off American Airlines flight
Amanda and her son were returning from a family holiday when the flight attendant noticed that 2-year-old Waylon was struggling to wear a face mask.
He is asthmatic so was unable to wear his mask properly, leading them to be removed from the flight and questioned by three police officers.
She uploaded a video of the incident to Instagram and wrote: “I was not refusing a mask. Nor did i even say I wouldn’t try to keep a mask on my son. We were escorted off the plane as I was holding a mask over his little face. I genuinely don’t have words.”
In the clip, you can hear the toddler coughing, crying and struggling to breathe whilst she holds a mask over his face.
She claimed in another Instagram Story that the pilot even said on the intercom: “I’m sorry for the delay but we are dealing with a non-compliant traveler.”
She revealed all the details on Facebook
After her Instagram Stories went viral, Amanda took to Facebook to post a lengthy statement in which she explained exactly what happened.
She revealed that on the flight out to Dallas, the flight attendants were extremely understanding and did not acknowledge that he wasn’t wearing a mask.
However, on the flight home, she was told to “contain her son” whilst he was walking in the aisle, then told that he must wear a mask despite being just 2-years-old.
Despite showing Carl, the flight attendant, her son’s negative Covid test, he still demanded that he wear mask.
“My son has never worn a mask before, he was tired and fidgety and I couldn’t get him to keep the mask on. It escalated to the point he wouldn’t keep the mask on, was covered in sweat, hysterical and kept screaming,” she said.
It got to the point where she even had to use her son’s emergency inhaler, before they were escorted off the plane and met by three police officers who were “embarrassed they were even there”.
After realising there was no issue, a member of American Airlines staff rebooked them on another flight just ten minutes later, but said there was nothing they could do as it came down to the decision of the flight attendant.
