Mac Miller’s 2014 mixtape Faces is all set to be released on streaming platforms and in vinyl.

The late rapper had released the mixtape for free on Mother’s Day in 2014. At the time, music critic Craig Jenkins labelled the mixtape “the best work of his career.”

Ahead of the mixtape’s re-release, a new music video for Mac’s song Colors and Shapes, directed by Sam Mason, was released on the rapper’s YouTube channel.

Singer’s re-released song ‘Colors and Shapes’ explored

The brand new music video for Mac’s song Colors and Shapes was released on September 15. Sam, who directed the video, said in a statement: “The track felt very visual to me—like it had its own world. This atmospheric nighttime place was sometimes dangerous, sometimes comforting.”

The vivid music video chronicles a dog’s journey through several surreal dimensions. The pooch, who is tucked in and asleep on his bed, wakes up in a world beyond anybody’s imagination. Journeying through a red door, he reaches various dimensions that exist in this world.

Sam further described: “To build it out, I asked Malcolm’s family to send me bits and pieces from his childhood, scenes from the town where he grew up, objects, toys from his room—little pieces of his life that I extrapolated outwards and used to inspire the story.”
