Call of Duty Vanguard fans will be able to enjoy crossplay mayhem as soon as the free open beta for PlayStation and early access for Xbox and PC starts.

The forthcoming instalment is developed by Sledgehammer Games and it will transport fans to the chaotic and loud battlefields of World War II. Every demo so far has been exclusive to PlayStation, but Activision are finally allowing the Xbox and PC community into the party.

And the good news is that friends and people across all systems will be able to mingle thanks to the inclusion of cross platform multiplayer.

Is Call of Duty Vanguard crossplay?

Call of Duty Vanguard does have crossplay and cross platform multiplayer.

Activision has confirmed that the open beta for PlayStation and early access for Xbox and PC includes cross platform multiplayer action. This means you will be able to team-up with and combat against anyone regardless of whether you game on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X, or PC.

The title is also cross-generation, meaning you can play across PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Series X if you opt out of crossplay. The full experience won’t launch until November, but its weekend demos offer plenty of its modes to try out.

Multiplayer modes

Modes for the final demo weekend include the following:

  • Champion Hill
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Domination
  • Kill Confirmed
  • Patrol

Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed are standard inclusions, whereas Champion Hill and Patrol are new. Champion Hill can be played as either solo or in duos and trios, meanwhile Patrol is an objective-based mode inspired by Hardpoint.

Is the Call of Duty Vanguard beta free?

The Call of Duty Vanguard open beta is free to download and play.

You can download it right now on PlayStation, but it is not available on Xbox and PC until September 18th. Microsoft and PC players only have the early access portion available until Saturday, and this not free to play as you must pre-order the game to participate.

Although you have to pay enter, the good news is that you can buy any edition of the newest CoD instalment. You do not need to own one of the more expensive editions, but make sure you know the bonuses and exclusive offerings before purchasing.
