Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching 5-second footage of Erik Lamela playing in the Champions League last night.
What’s the story?
Well, the 5-second clip shows Lamela enjoying himself in Sevilla’s 1-1 draw against RB Salzburg, pulling off a few trademark ball rolls.
Similar to how Steven Bergwijn made Wolves look silly on the touchline recently, the Argentine rolls the ball before surging down the flank.
It was quite interesting to watch, as the 29-year-old looks like a totally different player to the one we’ve seen in N17 in recent years.
One fan even said they’d never seen Lamela do this at Tottenham.
Lamela ended his eight-year stint at Spurs over the summer, as Fabio Paratici arranged a swap deal with Sevilla involving Bryan Gil.
Tottenham handed over Lamela, and also £21.6m for the Spaniard.
Gil should come good eventually, but as of now, Sevilla certainly got the better side of the deal.
Were Tottenham right to sell Erik Lamela?

In our view, despite the encouraging footage, Spurs were absolutely right to sell Lamela.
The Argentina international was a peripheral figure in his final seasons in north London, scoring just one Premier League goal in 23 appearances last term.
The season before that, Lamela only scored two goals in 25 Premier League outings.

He really wasn’t pulling his weight, and was also one of Tottenham’s highest earners.
To offload him, and get a 20-year-old wonderkid in return, is fantastic business from Paratici, even if Spurs had to cough up £21.6m as well.
Let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about the footage of Lamela…
