Episode 6, titled ‘’What If… Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark?’, takes fans back to where it all began, with the Iron Man premise from 2008. Killmonger, now an American soldier, rescues Tony Stark from the events that targeted him in Afghanistan, during Iron Man’s debut film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Who Voices Tony Stark?

Mick Wingert is credited as the voice of Tony Stark in episode 6 of What If…?. Wingert’s previous roles include Attack on Titan, Spider-Man Miles Morales, and the Spider-Man animated series between 2017-2020.

It should come as no surprise to fans that Robert Downey Jr. was not the voice behind this Tony Stark appearance, as many actors, including Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Tom Holland, have not been a part of the animated series.

Episode 6 continued to replace more roles this week, by bringing in new talent to provide the voices for Pepper Potts and Shuri.

Questions have been asked before as to why some actors did not return to voice their characters. Some speculate that it is down to the show’s budget or scheduling conflicts.
