Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to the club’s official tweet about Leon Bailey.

After four Premier League games, Villa fans haven’t seen much of their summer signing because of injuries.

But over the weekend, he impressed from the bench during Villa’s 3-0 defeat at Chelsea and now the supporters want him to start.

Dean Smith’s side will host in-form and unbeaten Everton on Saturday and Bailey could be handed a starting birth.

Even though Villa lost by such a scoreline against the European champions, the performance stated otherwise because, other than their finishing and a few defensive mistakes, it was a top-quality performance.

Villa paid £25 million for Bailey’s talents this summer (BBC Sport) and given the impact he has had, during the small time supporters have seen him, he has become a bit of a favourite already.

It’s no surprise that the case because, within a few minutes of coming onto the pitch at Stamford Bridge, he put Marcos Alonso on his backside by nutmegging him near his own corner flag.

Smith played three at the back against Chelsea and it will be interesting to see if he reverts in order to get his wide players out on the pitch.

If he does then there’s no reason why Bailey shouldn’t be a strong contender to be on that teamsheet when it’s announced at 4:30 pm on Saturday afternoon.
