Chrissy Teigen took to Instagram recently to inform her followers that she has undergone a buccal fat removal surgery that is making her face, especially her cheeks, look different.

The 35-year-old has been in the midst of a lot of controversy in the past months. But, her fans still love her cheeky and candid persona.

In true Chrissy fashion, the model posted an Instagram story recently, where she got candid about undergoing plastic surgery while showing off her new cheeks and sharp jawline.

Chrissy Teigen talks about undergoing buccal fat removal

Chrissy told in her now-deleted Instagram story: “I did that Dr. Diamond buccal fat removal thing here,” while pointing to her cheeks.

The model, who has been candid about her alcohol addiction in the past, also revealed: “And since I quit drinking, I’m really seeing the results, and I like it. Yeah, I did it, what?”

Subtly addressing the taboo surrounding plastic surgery, Chrissy captioned the clip, “no shame in my dr diamond game.”

For the unversed, Dr Jason Diamond is a well-known facial plastic surgeon who has starred in E!’s show Dr. 90210 as well as Netflix’s Celebrity Plastic Surgeons.

The model’s latest update about her cheeks reminds us of the time she joked with reporters saying: “Everything about me is fake except my cheeks.”

Model’s before and after pictures explored

Chrissy looks starkly different post her buccal fat removal surgery.

The sports illustrated cover girl was known for her bubbly and full cheeks previously. However, her recent Instagram story shows that the buccal fat removal has left Chrissy’s cheek looking significantly thinner, while her jawline looks even more distinct than earlier. See the before picture below.

In her early modelling days, Chrissy’s face was rounder, while post her latest surgery, her face appears to have a heart shape. This can be seen in her latest Instagram posts as well.

Buccal fat removal is an extraction procedure that is meant for reducing prominent cheeks. The buccal fat-pad tissues are extracted during the surgery. People with larger buccal fat pads generally have a round or full appearing face, it’s also called a “baby face.”

Buccal fat removal costs anywhere between $2,000 and $5,000. Because it’s a cosmetic procedure, it’s not paid out of health insurance.
