Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is celebrating a 100th Premier League goal – but has somehow been hit with an overall rating downgrade for FIFA 22.

Salah scored the opener for Liverpool at Leeds United on Sunday, sparking a 3-0 win.

That’s now 98 Premier League goals for Liverpool, with the other two coming for Chelsea.

Salah, 29, is quite simply one of the best players in Europe. You can comfortably make a case for him being the Premier League’s best player.

FIFA 22’s release is coming soon, meaning fans were wondering what Salah’s rating would be.

Those fans hoping for an upgrade have been left very disappointed. Salah’s FIFA 22 overall rating is just 89 – remarkably downgraded from FIFA 21.

Salah’s FIFA 22 rating seems ridiculous

Salah started FIFA 21 with an overall rating of 90. The Egyptian ended FIFA 21 with the same rating.

The Liverpool star’s FIFA rating hasn’t been below 90 since September 2019.

Now all of a sudden, Salah’s FIFA 22 rating seems him drop to 89 – the same as Reds teammate Sadio Mane.

Mane is a quality player too, but they weren’t on the same level last season.

Salah hit 22 goals in 37 Premier League games. Mane, on the other hand, scored 11 times in 35 outings.

Salah was so far ahead of Mane last season, it’s quite astonishing to see them at the same rating on FIFA 22.

You may say it doesn’t matter, but players often care about their FIFA rating, and Liverpool fans absolutely do…

Liverpool fans have their say – they’re not happy

Liverpool fans already feel that Salah doesn’t get the respect he deserves, and his FIFA 22 rating only adds to that.

Some took to Twitter to state that the downgrade is ‘so stupid’ and ‘criminal’.

Others believe that Salah actually believed an upgrade for his FIFA 22 rating, not a downgrade.

There was a feeling that Salah is being disrespected, with this latest snub branded ‘ridiculous’.
