Dixie D’Amelio made her debut appearance at the 2021 Met Gala with an Audrey Hepburn inspired outfit.
One of the most popular events in the whole world took place this week.
New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art was attended by the likes of Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox, Kendal Jenner, all dressed by some of the world’s biggest designers.
TikTok star Dixie D’Amelio also attended the prestigious event and her outfit has raised a number of eyebrows.

A social media influencer and singer, Dixie has become a celebrity in her own way with her TikTok content, music videos and now a reality show.
Dixie, her sister Charli D’Amelio and their parents appear on Hulu’s The D’Amelio Show which gives an insight into the family of two TikTok megastars.
For her Met Gala debut, Dixie wore a short black dress from Valentino and a huge black feathered headpiece which has been dubbed by some people as a “birds nest”.
She paired the look with long white gloves and clear perspex heels.
The TikTok personality made a quick change into another outfit from Valentino for the afterparty. You can see her look down below.
Fans react to Dixie’s look
Dixie’s Met Gala look received mixed reactions from netizens but it’s safe to say that many of her fans have come to her defence.
“Dixie is supposed to be recreating Audrey Hepburn. It’s actually perfect for he met because Audrey was so simplistic but not at the same time. Some [people] just don’t get it and that’s ok,” wrote one person.
“Dixie at the met is actually very interesting. It’s giving Audrey Hepburn and she looks beautiful,” one fan reacted.
Someone else added: “y’all do realize that dixie had to wear what valentino gave her right? valentino invited her to the met gala, and therefore picked out a look for her based off of this year’s theme. the outfit was an audrey hepburn inspired look and she looked stunning.”
Why wasn’t her sister Charli at the event?
Charli wasn’t at the 2021 Met Gala because of her age.
The TikTok star is only 17 years old and all attendees had to be over 18-years-old. A spokesperson for the Met Gala said this was because: “It’s not an appropriate event for people under 18.”
During an interview with Sirius XM, Charli said: “The funny thing about [the rumours] is I’m actually not old enough to go to the Met Gala but I have gotten so much hate about that and I’m like, guys, I can’t even go.”
