Elder won in Sacramento, where he challenged a decision by state election officials to block him from the September recall ballot, reported The Independent.
Elder tweeted: “Victory! My next one will be on Sept 14 at the ballot box.”
He added: “This isn’t just a victory for me, but a victory for the people of California. And not just those who favour the recall and support me but all voters, including many who will come to know me.”

Datig moved to the US with her parents in 1986. She began her career in politics in 2001, working alongside California State senator and Los Angeles city councilman Nate Holden.
She has worked as a political commentator for Fox News, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and C-SPAN, among others.
According to her Twitter she has a double major in criminal justice and communications, and is editor in chief of Front Page Index, a political blog.
