Crystal Palace striker Odsonne Edouard stole the show on Saturday afternoon, scoring twice in a superb 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Edouard joined Palace on transfer deadline day, completing a move from Celtic having been a goal machine up in Scotland.

Edouard sat on the bench for 84 minutes. He had a great view of Japhet Tanganga picking up a red card, and then Wilfried Zaha scoring from the penalty spot.

When Patrick Vieira introduced Edouard, few could have expected his astonishing impact – even if they knew of his Celtic exploits.

Edouard scored within seconds of his introduction. With his first touch, he controlled a Zaha pass. With his second, he fired past Hugo Lloris.

That wasn’t all though. Edouard grabbed another to make it 3-0, finishing off Conor Gallagher’s pass.

This was the debut that dreams are made of, and Palace fans will feel they now have a goalscoring hero to worship for years to come, just as Celtic fans did.

Palace fans rave about Edouard impact

Palace supporters have unsurprisingly raved about Edouard’s performance.

Some believe that Palace have the best striker in the league now, praising the ‘unbelievable’s impact of their new hitman.

His first game after leaving Celtic was so good that fans claimed he ‘stole’ the man of the match award from Zaha.

Others joked that Harry Kane wants to be Edouard, feeling that he is the ‘missing ingredient’ at Palace.
