Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has sent a message to Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott on Twitter.

The Leeds star has wished Elliott a speedy recovery from the horrific injury he suffered during this evening’s Premier League game at Elland Road.

In the 58th minute of the match, a challenge from Leeds defender Pascal Struijk saw Liverpool winger Elliott suffer a serious injury.

The 18-year-old was taken off soon after, and Struijk was shown a straight red card.

Leeds midfielder Phillips played in the game, and he has wished Elliott a speedy recovery on Twitter.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that Elliott has been taken to hospital.

The ankle injury looked very bad, and it now remains to be seen for how long the youngster will be on the sidelines.

It must be bitterly disappointing for the English teenager to suffer such a bad injury.

Elliott was just starting to establish himself in the Liverpool starting lineup.

Hopefully the former Fulham youngster will be back before long and will go back to playing wonderful football once he is fully fit.

Liverpool will miss the talented and promising young winger who was actually playing in midfield this season.
