Deathloop comes out very soon but Xbox players will have to wait until 2022 for its release date because of Bethesda’s timed exclusivity deal for the PS5.

Although lots of people have become exhausted with its suffocating marketing, there’s still excitement to be found due to its unique premise and genius developers. It’s made by those responsible for Dishonored, and they have pretty much become the masters of true assassin experiences much to the dismay of Ubisoft.

PlayStation 5 players will be able to step into its surreal tango and jazzy world in a few days, meanwhile Microsoft loyalists will have to patiently wait.

When is Deathlooping coming to Xbox Series X?

The earliest possible release date for Deathloop on Xbox Series X is September 14th, 2022.

It’s a bit awkward that the game is arriving on the green brand last as it’s published by Bethesda who are now owned by Microsoft. However, the reason it is exclusive to PS5 consoles for a year is because the deal was made between Sony and Bethesda before Microsoft’s acquisition of Todd Howard and co in March 2021.

While it’s disappointing that it will be restricted to PS5 consoles, there will be other avenues to play the game before next year.

PC

Arkane studio’s newest game will be on PC alongside PS5 at launch.

Its Sony exclusivity only pertains to consoles, meaning Microsoft loyalists with a good enough computer will be able to experience time looping assassinations through Steam. Below are its system requirements:

Will Deathloop be on Xbox Game Pass?

Although unconfirmed, it’s possible that Deathloop will be on Xbox Game Pass when it launches in 2022 for Microsoft.

There are 20 Bethesda titles on Game Pass right now and Starfield is confirmed for the subscription service as a day one launch title next year. Microsoft has also been releasing plenty of new day one titles into the programme’s library such as Psychonauts 2 from Double Fine Studios.
