December cannot come quick enough for Marvel fans to firstly see the spectacle that will be Spider-Man: No Way Home, and secondly, to put to bed the rumors of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield making a cameo.

The first, official trailer for No Way Home confirmed that the premise will see a tear in the Multiverse, as Doctor Strange attempts to reset the world to before Peter Parker’s Spidey identity was revealed. The trailer also confirmed that past villains Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, and Electro would be merging with the plot, which suggests that both Maguire and Garfield’s Spider-Men could make an appearance too.

Now a leaked video of Andrew Garfield allegedly on the set of No Way Home has served as the final piece of evidence to validate his and Maguire’s appearance, but is it real?

Spider-Man: No Way Home Andrew Garfield Video Leak

The leaked footage comes from Instagram user @Spider-Fan, who shared a short clip of Andrew Garfield dressed in his suit from The Amazing Spider-Man.

The clip shows Garfield crouched in front of a blue screen, gripping what appears to be some scaffolding. The actor is unmasked, showing the cropped hair he sported in the Sony films, and he appears to be talking to another character.

If you look closely, you can see the other character’s hands, which appear to be clad in a Spidey suit as well.

Thanks to the work of tireless Marvel fans, the fandom has confirmed that Garfield appears to say: “So you have like web blood?” Thanks to the skills of lip-readers, this suggests that Garfield is talking to Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, who doesn’t use gadgets to shoot webs like Garfield and Tom Holland’s versions.

Could the Video Leak Be Fake?

At this stage of technology, there is every possibility that this video is fake, or has been altered in some way.

The shot of Garfield could be deleted scenes or behind-the-scenes footage of Garfield during his time on The Amazing Spider-Man set, and the extra pair of Spidey hands could have been digitally added.

The “web blood” line that Garfield seems to be saying is by far the most convincing factor about the video and fans are now assured that the cameo is out of the bag – despite Garfield standing by his confirmation that he is not in No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will release in theaters on December 17th.
