Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after Kristoffer Ajer revealed his concerns about the competitiveness of Scottish football.
What’s the story?
Well, speaking to Norwegian news outlet VG, Ajer said: “I have incredible respect for the Scottish league, there are many great teams there, but there will be a little too many matches where I am not challenged enough. I will definitely be (challenged) in the Premier League.”
That’s not too respectful, to say the least.
We understand what the £13.5m man is trying to say, but he hasn’t exactly conveyed his thoughts in the best way.
Ajer won nine trophies in five years in Glasgow, so of course he’s going to believe he wasn’t challenged that much.
However, Scottish football is where he made his name, and developed his ability enough to make a move to the Premier League.
For that reason alone, he should give a bit more credit to the Scottish Premiership, rather than look down on it now he’s gone.
Celtic did well to receive £13.5m for Kristoffer Ajer

Make no mistake about it, the 23-year-old is a colossal defender, who is pretty imperious on his day.
Having said that, Celtic did very well to land £13.5m for his services.
Ajer’s contract was set to expire in 2022, and players don’t tend to leave Scotland for significant sums of money.

In that respect, £13.5m is a great sum given the circumstances.
It has been reinvested well, with Kyogo Furuhashi one of a few recruits who have already delivered some impressive displays.
For now, let’s see what the Celtic fans on Twitter have been saying about Ajer’s comments…
