The second season of Hulu series Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga, which looks back on the famous hip-hop group, dropped on the streaming platform yesterday. Following its release, fans have wondered about RZA’s real-life sister as she’s portrayed as Shurrie Diggs on the show.
How many siblings does RZA have?
The rapper has 11 brothers and sisters in total. However, in the Wu-Tang Clan series his siblings are portrayed as one character, Shurrie Diggs, played by actress Zolee Griggs.
RZA addressed the casting in an interview with the Belfast Telegraph in 2019. The rapper explained: “The story is based on truth. But this is a saga, so we can’t give you every detail.
“I’ll give you a small example of something we had to struggle with. It’s known I have 11 brothers and sisters. We can’t put 11 brothers and sisters in our show.”

Who is RZA’s sister?
Out of his 11 siblings RZA, whose real name is Robert Diggs, is said to have three sisters.
Some fans of the Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga may be familiar with his sister Sophia Diggs for her relationship with Ghostface Killah, which was featured on the series.
Not much is known of Sophia or her sister’s life away from the screen, although actress Zolee Griggs who plays an amalgamation of RZA’s 11 siblings admitted she spoke to her to get an insight into the Diggs family.
Talking to Stylecaster, she explained: “I think he has three sisters. I was able to speak to Sophia, who is one of his sisters. She’s really amazing and let me know about the family dynamic and what it was like with him growing up.”

Wu-Tang Clan member’s family explored
RZA is the father of seven children, having welcomed his four eldest children with first wife Eboni Mills.
Diggs and Mills wed in 2000 and, during their marriage, welcomed Eternity, Melchizedek, Shaquasia and Understanding Diggs.
He married second wife Talani Rabb in 2009, who he shares a son with. The rapper also has two children, Raindia Diggs and Pranda Diggs, from relationships outside his marriages.
