The PlayStation Showcase September 2021 start time is this evening and there are countless rumours and leaks online.

It will focus on the future of the PS5 which has been sorely lacking in games ever since its release. However, although the next-gen system will be the focus of the event, it’s possible that we may see God of War Ragnarok which is touted for PS4, too.

Whether you’re lucky enough to own a next-gen Sony console or are content with sticking to last-gen, there should be plenty of exciting reveals, trailers, and footage.

PlayStation Showcase leaks

One of the leaks and rumours for the PlayStation Showcase September 2021 event says that we can expect to see The Last of Us 2 Factions as well as a God of War Ragnarok trailer.

The same leaks says that we will also be treated to a gameplay trailer for Gran Turismo, new gameplay footage for Call of Duty Vanguard, as well as another trailer for Stray which is that game which puts you in the body of a cat. All of these rumours come courtesy of Moore’s Law Is Dead on YouTube (via WCCFTech).

Away from the event, the YouTuber also says that Sony are planning a PlayStation 5 Pro for late 2023/2024. This will not be part of today’s showing, but it supposedly features a new AMD Soc with higher performance and will boast a maximum price of $700.

One of our predictions for the PlayStation Showcase is that Sony will announce a new PS Plus premium tier which includes their recently purchased Crunchyroll.

While the above would be a hit or miss pending on price and whether you like anime, a more hopeful want is the tease of a new InFamous game. We don’t expect this to happen, but Sucker Punch has updated their infamousthegame domnain and Xbox Era co-founder, Nick Baker, says it might appear.

We would love Silent Hill to emerge but that ship sunk ages ago, meanwhile any news concerning Abandoned is just tiring. A safe prediction is that the PS5 version of Grand Theft Auto V will be present, and we should see more of Final Fantasy 16.

Even before the unconfirmed leaks from Moore’s Law Is Dead, we predicted that God of War Ragnarok would be present and that there would be an update on The Last of Us 2 multiplayer. Again, neither of these are confirmed.

It’s also possible that we will get another look at Square Enix’s Forspoken, and we’re hoping that we will not see Horizon Forbidden West again for the thousandth time.
