Lee Carsley has shared that Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp told him that there is ‘a bit of stiffness’ in his groin, as he told his press conference.
The Tottenham academy product limped off during England U21’s 2-0 win against Kosovo on Tuesday.
Those were worrying signs for Spurs fans because Skipp looked in discomfort.
Skipp has been a crucial player for Nuno Espirito Santo this season, helping the club to a 100% start and securing three clean sheets to boot.
It remains to be seen whether he will be ready for Tottenham’s clash against Crystal Palace this weekend.
But this is what England’s U21 boss, Carsley had to say about Skipp, as he shared a conversation he had with the hard-hitting midfielder.
“I have seen him on the treatment table with some ice on his groin,” said Carsley.
“He just said that there was ‘a bit of stiffness there’, so like these injuries, you will probably know about it tomorrow.
“Ollie’s a really robust player. The intensity he plays at. He plays at 100% for 90 minutes. He is going to become a really important part of the team, for us.”

If Skipp is indeed out of action this weekend then fans won’t know until 24 hours, at best, before kick-off.
Of course, Nuno will not want to give any team selections away because, if he is without Skipp, then it might mean a few tweaks, here and there.
Could Dele Alli drop deeper into midfield? Would Nuno risk moving August Player of the Month nominate, Eric Dier, out from defence and into the middle of the park?
Or, the more likely scenario, will the fans see the return of either Harry Winks or Tanguy Ndombele? Either way, it’s perhaps best that one of the latter are brought back.
