DC fans have recently been treated to a fresh trailer for the upcoming animated movie Injustice, starring all of your favorite DC heroes and villains including Superman, Batman, Joker, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Harley Quinn.

Directed by Matt Peters (Justice League Dark) and written by Ernie Altbacker (Batman: Hush), Injustice shares a similar animation style to the recent Mortal Kombat feature, Scorpion’s Revenge, largely thanks to the same producer, Rick Morales, being on board both projects.

Injustice Release Date and How to Watch

Injustice is scheduled to release on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.

The feature-length animated movie is a straight to digital and Blu-ray release, included as part of a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack which will retail at $39.99 (approximately £29.99). There is no word on whether the animated movie will release in theaters for a certain amount of time, but this is not expected to happen.

With a cast including Anson Mount, Gillian Jacobs, Laura Bailey, Kevin Pollak, Janet Varney, and Justin Hartley, the Injustice trailer promises an action-packed feature with commendable performances all around.

What is Injustice About?

The animated movie is inspired by NetherRealm Studios’ video game series Injustice: Gods Among Us, and the graphic novel Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One by Tom Taylor.

Injustice depicts a world that has plummeted into chaos after The Joker tricked Superman into killing his love interest, Lois Lane. This heinous crime sends Superman on a harmful power trip to control Earth for humanity’s sake.

In classic Batman v Superman-style, the Dark Knight assembles a group of heroes willing to fight against Superman to allow his consciousness to return to normal. However, the inevitable clash of Earth’s finest heroes causes even more unrest within the world, and the planet’s survival is therefore compromised.
