“Everyone is at the top of their game”

Deadline includes that the film is set to share its opening with Clifford the Big Red Dog, which they acknowledge is the only other wide-release film to compete with; as you can gather, there are very different target demographics at play here.

Raven Capital Management developed the movie in partnership with Sculptor and Zero Gravity, while CAA Media Finance sorted financing for the project, as well as a domestic distribution deal.

James Masciello – Raven Capital Management’s principal – has previously said:

“Anticipating the resurgence of cinema going post-pandemic, we made Copshop with theatrical audiences specifically in mind, delivering a big-time event experience with an original bent. Everyone is at the top of their game in Copshop and we can’t wait for audiences to strap in, and experience this ride for themselves.”

Executive producer Tom Ortenberg added on behalf of Open Road Films, which Raven acquired in 2018: “We look forward to entertaining moviegoers this September with an exhilarating movie that audiences will enjoy immensely.”

Copshop is in UK cinemas from Friday, September 10th 2021 and US cinemas from Friday, September 17th 2021.
