Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn was at his absolute best on Tuesday night after he helped Scotland record a crucial 1-0 win over Austria in their World Cup qualifier.
The boyhood Celtic fan and thriving Villa star is some entertainer when he is out on that pitch and his energetic style is much-loved by the supporters.
In the final minute of the game last night, McGinn ran with the ball towards the corner flag, with several opposition players chasing him.
He then outfoxed the Austrian players by turning to his left and running towards the goal, only to run back to the corner flag and then win the free-kick.
By then, the full-time whistle was blown and McGinn booted the ball away with joy.
Villa fans would have seen that before with their all-action midfielder because he did something similar against Blackburn Rovers when they were in the Championship.
On that occasion, Villa were leading 2-1 in stoppage-time, he ran across the pitch towards the corner flag, then back towards goal, took a shot and won a corner.
The 26-year-old, who could have joined Celtic prior to moving to the Midlands, has been one of the best purchases for Villa in recent times.
The then-Championship side spent around only £2 million for his talents from Hibernian and they did pretty well to stave off interest from the Bhoys at the time, as reported by BBC Sport.
And whilst Celtic fans will rue missing out on his talents, one thing is for sure, they will be loving what he produces for Scotland on a regular basis now.
McGinn played a huge part in them reaching Euro 2020 this summer and he will be even crucial if they are to book their ticket to the Qatar World Cup next year.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of fans reacting to McGinn’s actions in stoppage-time last night:
