Liverpool will surely be in the market for a new attacker next summer, and an exciting name is now being linked in Red Bull Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi.

Diogo Jota brought new energy to Liverpool’s front line last season, but Jurgen Klopp wasn’t able to bring in another new addition this summer.

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are all approaching their 30’s now, and Liverpool have to start thinking about the future too.

Bild now report that Liverpool are fighting Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the race to sign German wonderkid Adeyemi.

The 19-year-old has hit six goals in his first six league games this season, and even scored on his Germany debut during this international break.

Adeyemi now looks like the next striker off the Red Bull Salzburg production line, having sold Erling Haaland and Patson Daka in recent times.

Liverpool do have great connections with Red Bull after deals for Naby Keita, Takumi Minamino and Ibrahima Konate, and may hope to use that to their advantage in the hunt for Adeyemi.

Liverpool fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, and it’s fair to say that many of them are excited.

Some believe that Adeyemi is the ‘next big thing’ and will be a ‘superstar’ in the next couple of years.

Others are begging FSG to strike a ‘bargain’ deal for Adeyemi, believing that Michael Edwards has his sights set on a must-have player.
