Aston Villa were heavily linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie – and the rumours aren’t exactly dying down.

Villa were active over the summer transfer window, bringing in the likes of Axel Tuanzebe, Emiliano Buendia, Leon Bailey, Ashley Young and Danny Ings.

They were linked with a central midfield addition before the deadline, and a host of names were linked, including McKennie.

No deal was done, but that doesn’t mean the rumours have come to an end.

The Sun reported last weekend that Villa are already looking to sign McKennie in January, seemingly sensing a chance to get him in.

The Daily Mail added that Juventus are willing to sell McKennie to Villa or Tottenham for around £25million in January because they are furious with him.

McKennie has broken pandemic protocols whilst away with the United States national team, and seemingly have concerns about his personality according to this report.

Signed permanently from Schalke earlier this year, the 23-year-old has shown promise as a box-to-box midfielder in Italy, but could find himself on the move in January.

Juventus fans seem pretty split on the idea of selling McKennie to Villa, with some feeling that he brings a little too much drama to the club and should be sold.

Others think there has been a major overreaction to his incident this week, especially when other Juve players are going mask-less – and even think that Juventus are finding an excuse to sell him when he shouldn’t be offloaded.
