The Dallas Cowboys are the stars of Hard Knocks 2021, which premiered on August 10, 2021 on HBO. Weeks of training were documented to prepare for the upcoming season, so how many total episodes are there for viewers to enjoy?

HBO’s sports docu-series takes football fans into the world of their favourite team as they gear up during their pre-season. Hard Knocks 2021 is America’s team, The Dallas Cowboys, third appearance on the reality series, after appearing in 2002 and 2008.

While there were several teams that were predicted to appear on the show, the Cowboys were the most obvious choice given the absence of star quarterback Dak Prescott due to an ankle injury last season, as well as 2021 being the second year of head coach Mike McCarthy.

HBO aired the fifth episode on September 7th, 2021, so will there be an episode 6?

The Cowboys are done for 2021

Hard Knocks 2021 is only five episodes long, following the tradition of the show since 2007.

Since it premiered on August 10, HBO has been releasing weekly episodes every Tuesday at 10pm ET, also available to stream on HBO Max.

It may have only been five episodes, but fans have made it clear that the finale was undoubtedly the best and it is the perfect transition into the first game of the season: Dallas Cowboys vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, September 9 at 8:20pm ET.

The game will be on NBC, so you can watch it on any subscription service that that carries the channel, such as Hulu + Live TV, FuboTV, YouTube TV and Peacock.

Aaiden Diggs steals the finale

Never heard of this name? That’s because he’s not a Cowboy, he’s not even a football player.

Four-year-old Aaiden was first seen in episode 3 when his father, Trevon Diggs, was facetiming his brother Stefon Diggs, Buffalo Bills wide receiver.

During Trevon’s match against the Houston Texans, the camera pans to the enthusiastic youngster, screaming his heart out as his dad’s hype man.

Fast forward to the finale, the little man appeared once again and it’s even more adorable than before, when he finally gets to meet his favourite quarterback Dak Prescott.

He hilariously confuses Dak with Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes, but who can stay mad at him?

Overall, Reddit and Twitter have been labelling this season as the most boring year of Hard Knocks due to the lack of story telling and connection to players.

Viewers are complaining that the practice footage are wired-up and unnatural, while the show didn’t expose any unseen footage that hasn’t already been covered by Dallas media.
