Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Jude Bellingham ‘suits’ Liverpool, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (08/09/21 at 8:50 am).

On Tuesday night, the Daily Star claimed that Liverpool want to sign Bellingham in an £80 million deal next summer.

The 18-year-old is one of the top youngsters in the world and playing for a club in Borussia Dortmund that have sold their top talents before.

Whilst the recently-concluded summer transfer window was one of the craziest in recent memories, those on Merseyside, both the blue and red half, kept rather quiet.

Former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor thinks Bellingham is a ‘complete midfielder’ and a player that Jurgen Klopp needs.

“I think he suits their team,” said Agbonlahor. “I think he is a complete midfielder.

“The age he is at now, he is only going to get better and better. It makes sense for them.

“They need to. They need to get more players into that team. They haven’t replaced Wijnaldum.

“Harvey Elliott is a good player but they need someone like Bellingham in there. £80 million? It’s a lot of money, but it’s the way the football world works, at the moment.”

Bellingham played in the middle of the park for England last time out, alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson.

Perhaps that was a sign for Liverpool fans as to what is to come because that’s something they would no doubt dream of wanting to see on a regular basis at Anfield.

It needs to be remembered that the Reds didn’t replace Gini Wijnaldum this summer, despite such a key figure leaving a void in their team.

Not only that, whilst others around them brought back a Cristiano Ronaldo, spent £100 million on an England international or re-signed Romelu Lukaku, they only made one major signing.

So, surely FSG, who aren’t popular with the Liverpool fans as it is, really need to back a man in Klopp that has helped transform the club so much.
