Thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, movie releases have been impacted like never before with films either moving online or delaying their release dates.
James Wan’s Malignant is one such film to face delay but after postponing its release by more than a year, the horror movie is finally upon us.
But just where will film fans be able to watch Malignant when it releases?
Malignant: Release date and plot
After originally being scheduled to release in August 2020, James Wan’s Malignant finally hits our screens in September 2021.
Specifically, September 10th in the US and UK while release dates differ depending on the country in question.
The film tells the story of Madison, a woman who is paralysed by shocking nightly visions of grisly murders.
As her torment mounts, Madison learns the terrible truth that the murderous events she witnesses are taking place in real life and could well be linked to Gabriel, an ‘imaginary friend’ she had as a child.
Where to watch Malignant
Malignant will be available to watch in cinemas around the world as well on HBO Max in countries where the streaming service is available.
That’s right, film fans have a choice of watching Malignant on the big screen or from the comfort of their own home.
Fans wanting to watch via HBO Max will have 30 days to do so from its release on September 10th. The film will only be available on the ad-free plan which is priced at $14.99 per month.
In countries where HBO Max is not available, Malignant will be exclusive to cinemas.
Meet the cast
Taking on the starring role of Madison in Malignant is Annabelle Wallis of Annabelle and The Mummy fame.
She will be joined by Mckenna Grace of I,Tonya and The Handmaid’s Tale, who plays a young Madison.
Meanwhile, Maddie Hansson, George Young, Michole Briana White, Jacqueline McKenzie, Jake Abel and Ingrid Bisu also feature among the film’s main cast members.
