Speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Matt Upson has been full of praise for Bukayo Saka after his performance for England against Andorra.

The Arsenal ace scored in the World Cup Qualifier on Sunday, and Upson was very impressed by the 20-year-old’s showing and general demeanour.

Upson says that Saka has been coping brilliantly with some of the pressure he’s been under, especially after his missed penalty in the Euro 2020 final.

Upson was full of praise for Saka after his showing for the Three Lions.

“Amazing to be honest. You say that out loud, he’s 20, I mean wow. That’s such a young age for him to be doing what he’s doing with some of the pressure he has on his shoulders and I think he’s coping brilliantly. He played the game in the right way, his application is always brilliant, and to get his goal, it was a clever little move as well,” Upson said.

Future star

Saka has everything needed to be a future star at every level.

So often we see a young player burst onto the scene playing with a level of fearlessness, only for his attitude to change after a setback, but despite Saka’s struggled with both Arsenal and England, he’s still starring.

Saka looks like he’s not been affected at all by Arsenal’s poor start to the season or his penalty miss against Italy, and that’s great to see.

Fingers crossed the youngster continues to go from strength to strength.
