Inter Milan are already working on the 2022 free transfers of Andre Onana and Matthias Ginter, according to Tuttosport, following respective interest from Arsenal and Tottenham.

Simone Inzaghi will strive to defend the Nerazzurri’s Serie A title with a vastly different side to the one that Antonio Conte lifted the Scudetto with last term. Gone are Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi, with Joaquin Correa and Denzel Dumfries joining in their place.

Chairman Giuseppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio now have eyes toward next summer with those potentially available for free. Negotiations could start at any stage with possible targets for Bosman deals, knowing they can agree pre-contracts from January.

Inter Milan admire Onana as the Serie A outfit eye Samir Handanovic’s successor, with the 37-year-old’s contract expiring in June. Marotta and Ausilio view the Ajax shot-stopper as the ideal option to take over at the San Siro next year.

Arsenal had explored signing Onana from Ajax before Mikel Arteta pushed through with plans to sign Aaron Ramsdale. That’s according to Goal journalist Charles Watts, who noted last month that the Cameroonian’s camp were very surprised the Gunners did not bid.

Inter could also sign one of Tottenham’s summer targets, with Borussia Monchengladbach centre-half Ginter on their shortlist, as well. Bild reported in May that Spurs and Liverpool were exploring the German international’s situation. Yet the 27-year-old ultimately stayed at Borussia-Park, despite Sky Germany reporting Bayer Leverkusen could bid €20m (£17m).

Tottenham could still sign Ginter next year if he does not agree an extension with Borussia Monchengladbach, despite Inter’s interest. Marotta and Ausilio are also exploring a deal for Chelsea duo Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, plus Lazio’s Luiz Felipe.

Inter Milan to sign Arsenal and Tottenham targets Onana and Ginter?

Arsenal will hope Ramsdale proves himself after Arteta spent £24m on the Sheffield United goalkeeper, while Goal claimed they wanted to pay Ajax £7m for Inter Milan target Onana. The Nerazzurri could now gain from that decision, as they replace their veteran captain.

Tottenham, meanwhile, could monitor Ginter’s situation in hopes of beating Inter Milan to a free transfer for the Monchengladbach enforcer. Spurs remained the market for a new centre-half after signing Cristian Romero this summer, per football.london.

The north Londoner’s start under Nuno Espirito Santo could help Paratici convince Ginter Tottenham are recovering after last season’s struggles. Spurs are the only side to have won their opening three games, to top of the table as the only team to have also not conceded.
