Colorado politician Lauren Boebert has been bombarded with tweets after she had mistaken a quote by brewer Samuel Adams, for 2nd US President John Adams.
If you screw up in the public eye, then expect to be mocked because social media is ruthless.
Politicians have been quite outspoken on the platform and as global events have escalated, bold statements against other key figures have not been shy. Lauren Boebert is the latest US politician openly against President Joe Biden and she has found herself at the center of Twitter embarrassment.
The now-deleted tweet
On September 3, 2021, Lauren tweeted out a photo of her next to the quote, “For true patriots to be silent, is dangerous”, citing 2nd US President John Adams as the originator.
However, social media was quick to inform the Colorado congresswoman that the quote was actually by one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, Samuel Adams, who was also a maltster at his family’s business.
Lauren quickly deleted the tweet, but the screenshots have been going viral. She has since resumed her usual program of tweeting and hasn’t addressed the slip-up or the memes.
Thanks to Lauren, the beer company named after the historical figure is receiving good exposure as ‘Samuel Adams’ is going viral on the platform.

She became a member of the U.S. House of Representatives after beating out existing Republican member Scott Tipton in the June 2020 primary election; her success continued in the general election against Democratic ormer state representative Diane Mitsch Bush in November.
