Tottenham Hotspur consider Nile John to be a potential future star, if the midfielder can maintain his current rate of development in north London, according to football.london.
John joined Tottenham’s academy at the age of seven and is now on the cusp of the senior fold. He has risen through the junior ranks over recent years, stepping up from the Under 16s to U18s in 2018/19. The youngster also made his first U23s appearance this January.
Nuno Espirito Santo is likely to afford the 18-year-old chances to impress in the first-team this season, as well. John’s opportunities are expected to come in the Carabao and FA cups, plus the UEFA Conference League, as Tottenham look to challenge on multiple fronts.

John earned his mid-season graduation to the U23s after impressing in Tottenham’s U18s over the first half of last term. The Shepherd’s Bush born-and-raised prospect’s rise also continued in February, when Jose Mourinho handed him his senior debut.
The England U19 international featured as a late substitute during the second-leg of Spurs’ Europa League Last 32 with Wolfsberger. Nuno also awarded him a first senior start during the first-leg of their Conference League qualifier with Pacos de Ferreira.
John has only featured in one Premier League matchday squad, and is yet to be involved in a domestic cup. Interim boss Ryan Mason listed the teenager on the bench on the final day of last term against Leicester. He did not enter the action at any stage during the 4-2 win.
What can Tottenham expect from John in the first-team?
John has not had the chance to truly show what he can offer in the Tottenham first-team over his appearances. He played just nine minutes against Wolfsberger with Spurs already leading 3-0. Nuno also replaced him at half-time against Pacos after falling a goal behind.
But John has shown in the north London youth ranks that he can offer a skilful presence in midfield. The local prospect also added a goalscoring touch in the U16s and creativity with the U18s and U23s. He has one goal and an assist in two PL2 outings already this season.
