Jennifer Aniston teased fans on an Instagram post on September 3rd, 2021 by tagging the account ‘LolaVie’, which is suspected to be her new beauty brand.

Statista reports that the beauty industry in 2021 is worth $603 billion and with new brands popping up more than ever, it’s only going to get bigger as more people jump on the lucrative bandwagon.

Jennifer Aniston is the latest A-List celebrity to embark on a beauty venture, joining the likes of Miranda Kerr’s KORA Organics, Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty and Gwyneth Paltrow’s innovative Goop.

Though the actress hasn’t given any hints to what specific products are lined up, we do know the name of the label – what does LolaVie actually mean?

The meaning of LolaVie explained

Confirmed to be releasing on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021, LolaVie is said to mean ‘laughing at life’, as reported by Reuters.

This isn’t the first time that Jen An has used this unique name – her first perfume release in July 2010 was due to be named Lolavie by Jennifer Aniston, but had to abruptly change it to simply Jennifer Aniston to avoid similarities to another perfume.

“It turned out as we were getting close to the launch, there was something out there that was very similar and it was just going to get very confusing in the marketplace”

“And at such a late hour, I didn’t want to postpone the launch so the only thing we could really clear was my name.

She never shared the inspiration behind the name, which she stated as “a long story and honestly it’s too personal to tell, but it has a special significance.” So perhaps she’ll tell fans with the launch of Lolavie this time.

However, that answer was not satisfying enough for fans at the time, leading to discussion amongst them.

One user claims that Lola Vie was the name Jennifer and Brad Pitt chose for their daughter during their attempts at having a child; obviously that never happened since they divorced in 2005.

Another states that it was the name of a young girl that passed away in a Mexican orphanage, whom the actress grew close and supported.

Of course these were just rumours which were never actually confirmed.

What products will LolaVie have?

Judging by the Instagram posts, LolaVie will likely take an organic and eco-friendly approach to their products.

Featuring a homepage decorated with a bamboo plant and lemon in a test tube, we can expect the creations to have clean ingredients to naturally enhance their customers.

According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, a trademark was filed for the name in July 2019 for beauty, including “lotions for face and body; non-medicated soaps for face and body; non-medicated preparations for the care of the skin, hair, nails and body; bath gel; shower gel; deodorants for personal use”.
