Odsonne Edouard has taken to Twitter to send John Hartson a message, after completing his £14m move from Celtic to Crystal Palace.

What’s the story?

Well, on transfer deadline day, Hartson posted a tweet thanking the Frenchman for his efforts at Parkhead.

Clearly, Edouard has needed a few days to sort out his personal life after swapping Glasgow for south London, as he’s only just replied to the message.

However, it’s a kind reply – a short one, but one full of admiration for the 46-year-old as he calls Hartson a legend.

You can see Edouard’s post in full below.

It’s great to see that the 23-year-old has left Celtic Park without burning his bridges with supporters or club legends either.

It’s testament to his professionalism, and how many special memories he created for fans of the Bhoys.

Who will be Celtic’s new Odsonne Edouard?

After four years, 86 goals and nine trophies, it’s time for a new talisman to step up for Celtic – who could fill French Eddy’s boots?

Well, it’s not going to be Leigh Griffiths after he joined Dundee on loan.

It most certainly wouldn’t have been Griffiths regardless, in all honesty.

In our view, Giorgos Giakoumakis is more than capable of replacing Edouard – he might be ever better.

The Greek striker is three years older than Edouard, and has just enjoyed a phenomenal season for VVV-Venlo in which he scored 29 goals in 33 games.

Ange Postecoglou clearly believes in him too, handing him the iconic No.7 shirt following his arrival from the Netherlands.

It was sad to see Edouard go, but the Hoops have a new hero in waiting.
