It has been suggested by The Athletic that Moura was ‘full of praise’ for Spurs when trying to lure Emerson towards North London.

It played a huge part as Fabio Paratici then got that deal over the line, in what turned out to be a pretty productive summer transfer window for the club.

Spurs fans aren’t surprised by Moura’s actions and they think it just shows how much love he has for the club.

They appreciate the ‘agent’ role he played in signing a top talent from Spain, which helps boost and add much-needed depth to their defence.

Whilst one man walked through the doors at Hotspur Way on Tuesday, another in Serge Aurier mutually agreed to terminate his contract.

It now means that Emerson will battle Japhet Tanganga and Matt Doherty for a right-back role.

The Spurs academy star is a centre-back by trade, but he has been flourishing in that role this season.

Then there’s Doherty, who starred under Nuno at Wolves, but since his move to the capital, he hasn’t been able to walk the walk.

It will be interesting to see if Nuno pushes Tanganga and Emerson as his future right-backs because it wouldn’t be a surprise if he goes down that road.
