Ollie McBurnie labelled Daniel James as a ‘starboy’ on Instagram after he signed for Leeds United on transfer deadline day.

The striker wasn’t the only one reacting to the transfer news, with Luke Shaw also sharing his thoughts and writing that James will be ‘massively missed’.

This move has perhaps been two-and-a-half years in the making because Leeds wanted to sign James when they were in the Championship.

But as used to come with the drama with Leeds in England’s second-tier, the move fell through at the last minute.

However, on transfer deadline day, the Whies paid £25 million for his attacking talents, according to BBC Sport.

When they got their man yesterday, Shaw sent the following message to the Wales international.

The left-back wrote: “Good luck my brother. You will be massively missed.”

Neco Williams added by saying: “Good luck bro.” And Angel Gomes added: “All the best brother.”

Marcelo Bielsa’s side were already one of the more entertaining teams to watch in the Premier League last season and James just ramps up their speed of play in the final third.

Given that Bielsa has wanted James for some while, then it’s pretty clear that he likes a number of things in his footballing armoury.

James’ play in the final third did improve during his time at Old Trafford. but under Bielsa, he will feel he can take it to a completely different level.

And if he can improve like Kalvin Phillips, Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas have improved at Elland Road then James will become one hell of a player.
