Ann Coulter, a conservative commentator, has backed President Joe Biden’s decision on the recent military withdrawal from Afghanistan; claiming that Donald Trump had “abandoned” his promise to do so.

President Biden recently rejected any critics of his decision to end America’s 20-year war in Afghanistan, and Ann Coulter seems to praise Biden’s moves.

Less than a week after a terrorist bombing at Kabul airport, Joe Biden has responded to global uproar in a 26-minute speech; leading to a variety of reactions on Twitter.

Ann Coulter’s unexpected Twitter spree explained

Ann responded in a quote tweet to a New York Times article that was tweeted and reported on Joe Biden’s defence of the troop pullout in Afghanistan.

In the article, it reports that Joe Biden said he will not extend this “forever war.”Ann Coulter responded on Twitter: “Thank you, President Biden, for keeping a promise Trump made, but then abandoned when he got to office.”

Ann said in a separate tweet that “Trump REPEATEDLY demanded that we bring our soldiers home, but only President Biden had the balls to do it.”

This was followed by some evidence of Trumps Twitter archive whereby his old tweet receipts were pulled up and displayed. These tweets which were posted during Trump’s presidency included him writing that the US should bring its soldiers home.

Biden and Trump’s situation explained

The tweets that Ann pulled up show that Trump repeatedly wanted the US troops to leave Afghanistan during his 2016 campaign.

in February of 2020, Trump made a conditional peace deal with the Taliban which meant that the US would withdraw the number of troops in Afghanistan; so long as the Taliban did not provide support to terrorist groups.

Now, Afghanistan has been left in chaos as innocent citizens try to flee, therefore Biden has been criticised for the withdrawal. However, he claims that he has just taken over the situation from Trump.

“My predecessor, the former President, signed an agreement with the Taliban to remove U.S. troops by May the 1st, just months after I was inaugurated,” he said.
