Celtic have confirmed that Leigh Griffiths has joined Dundee FC on loan for the season.
The Scottish giants announced on their official Twitter account that the 31-year-old attacker had left Celtic Park to sign for the SPL side for the season.
Griffiths spent two years with Dundee between 2009 and 2011 where the striker scored 33 goals in 62 games for the club. His spell with the Dees saw the attacker win a move to England with Wolves.
Now, the attacker is back at Dundee for the season with Griffiths no longer in Ange Postecoglou’s plans for the season. Celtic are close to signing Georgios Giakoumakis from VVV-Venlo as reported by Sky Sports News.
The Hoops will be hoping to complete a deal for Giakoumakis today. And Griffiths heading to Dundee will likely accelerate any progress Celtic want to make in signing the Greek international.
Indeed, Griffiths could re-find his form after a difficult 18 months at Celtic on the pitch. And on social media, fans are buzzing that the striker has moved on for the season to a club he is familiar with.
