Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is set to stay at the club beyond the transfer deadline after a decision from the club’s board.
That’s according to Football.London, who claim that Ndombele asked to leave Tottenham this summer after two years in North London.
Some La Liga sides were keen, but it has now been decided at board level that Ndombele will be staying put beyond the transfer deadline.
Ndombele will allegedly be reintegrated into Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad after the international break, having so far been left out by the Tottenham boss.
Only a huge offer would sway Daniel Levy and co, with the decision to keep Ndombele seemingly coming from way above Nuno.
Ndombele, 24, was seen as a marquee signing for Tottenham in 2019 as Mauricio Pochettino managed to raid Lyon for the French international.
Possessing immense quality on the ball and able to ghost past players for fun, Ndombele has shown glimpses of being Mousa Dembele’s heir, but just hasn’t put it all together.

That’s now four managers – Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Ryan Mason and Nuno – who just haven’t quite managed to unlock Ndombele.
Tottenham would be unlikely to get their money back now, and maybe that’s why the Spurs board want him back in the fold.
Getting Ndombele playing and hopefully firing would improve his value and get him in the shop window, rather than feel they have to accept a disappointing offer on deadline day.
