Dan James is set to undergo his medical with Leeds United today after the Yorkshire club agreed to a £25m fee with Manchester United for the winger.
As per the report, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are ‘happy’ with the fee for the transfer. Leeds believe the final figure is a realistic estimation of James given how much other British players have been sold for this window.
Leeds have been chasing James for the good part of two years. The winger was on the verge of joining the club, then in the Championship, in the 2019 January transfer window.
However, the deal famously collapsed due to time running out. The transfer was so close that James was even photographed holding a Leeds shirt.
United have gone big on Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. Meaning James has found himself out of the first-team picture with the Manchester giants. And Leeds have swept in to offer the attacker a new home.
Indeed, with Bielsa a big fan of the winger, there is a strong chance that Leeds have big plans for James for the upcoming season.
The attacker has been inconsistent since joining United in the summer of 2019. And at Leeds, James could find the perfect club to develop his game and to evolve into the terrifying attacker many supporters believe the Welshman can become.
