According to the Manchester Evening News, it’s possible that Yangel Herrera leaves Manchester City today with West Ham and Leeds interested.

What’s the story?

Well, the 24-cap Venezuela international has attracted plenty of interest from the Premier League thanks to his efforts on loan at Granada.

The 23-year-old has spent the last two seasons on loan with the Spanish outfit.

According to The Sun, Leeds and West Ham have sat up and taken notice of Herrera’s displays.

The Manchester Evening News believe Pep Guardiola’s side value the defensive midfielder at £20m.

However, Herrera wouldn’t be leaving today in a permanent deal, with only a loan possible if an exit did happen to materialise.

What would Leeds or West Ham get in Yangel Herrera?

Well, for a start, whoever signs Herrera will be getting a pressing machine.

As the Manchester Evening News state, the Leeds and West Ham target recorded 152 successful pressures last year, ranking 21st in La Liga.

Considering Granada aren’t primarily a pressing team, that’s very impressive.

Herrera can also operate at centre-back, as well as in an advanced midfield role or a defensive role – he’s extremely versatile.

A permanent deal might be too difficult to complete right now.

However, if there really is a chance of Herrera leaving on loan today, Marcelo Bielsa and David Moyes have to be all over it.
