The Pokemon Go Season of Mischief transition will bring new Ditto disguises for September 2021 as well as the chance to catch a Shiny.

Season of Mischief will last until December and Hoopa is on the cusp of finally arriving. We’ve all been waiting for its arrival since the anti-climatic conclusion of Go Fest, and there will be corresponding Special Research quests and rewards on September 5th.

While the debut of the eagerly anticipated pocket monster is exciting, you’ll also want to keep your eyes peeled for the mischievous purple flubber.

Pokemon Go Ditto disguises September 2021

The Pokemon Go Ditto disguises for September 2021 are as follows for the Season of Mischief:

  • Foongus
  • Dwebble
  • Stunky
  • Numel
  • Gulpin
  • Remoraid
  • Teddiursa
  • Drowzee
  • Gastly

Encountering and defeating any of the above roster will not always result in the infamous purple goo shedding its mask. However, the above monsters are who it is mimicking so be sure to look out for them (via Leekduck).

How to find Shiny Ditto in Pokemon Go

You can try to find and catch a Shiny Ditto in Pokemon Go once the Season of Mischief starts on September 1st at 10:00 local time.

The only way to catch a Shiny variant of flubber that is blue instead of purple is by battling any of its disguises. A creature such as Foongus can either turn into regular or sparkling Ditto, but the odds of this happening either way are always slim.

All you need to know is that any creature on the disguise list can turn into the regular version or the more desirable blue.

How to catch

The only way to catch the blob is by fighting and ensaring the creatures it is disguised as and hoping one of them transforms. Unfortunately, there’s no way of knowing if a pocket monster is a charade until you beat it.

Finding its list of possible masks can be long and frustrating, so you may wish to use Incense to increase spawn rates. You can also use Lure at Poke Stops.

While there are no physical differences, an often good indicator is when a creature’s CP is lower than usual. Although not always definitive, this may suggest that Gastly isn’t really Gastly.
