Daniel James has raved about Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa on Sky Sports News (4:34pm, August 31, 2021) after completing his move from Manchester United.
Leeds have announced on their official website this afternoon that they have signed James from Premier League rivals United on summer transfer deadline day.
The 23-year-old Wales international winger has signed for the Whites on a five-year contract.
Leeds have said in their statement that James was close to joining the West Yorkshire club during the 2018-19 season.
The Whites wanted to sign James before he joined United from Swansea City for £15 million, as reported by Sky Sports.
Leeds head coach Bielsa clearly likes James, having followed him for so long, and the winger is happy at that and has spoken highly of the Argentine.
James said about Bielsa on Sky Sports News (4:34pm, August 31, 2021): “He is a top manager, respected all around the world. Always nice to be liked by someone like that, and it’s one of the biggest reasons why I am here today.”
Exciting for Leeds United
Now, James did not have the best of times at United, but he is just 23 and can only get better in the coming years.
Bielsa has improved the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Luke Ayling and Patrick Bamford a lot, and Leeds fans should be confident that he will work wonders with James as well.
The winger already has experience of playing in the Premier League for a big club like United, and he should be a big success at Leeds.
